Eighth Grade Parents,
Happy September! We have survived the first few weeks of school J The heat and humidity have been unbearable at times. However, the students have not complained even though our classroom has felt like a sauna at times. It looks like we are in for some cooler weather. I hope so!
Most of the students have been working hard despite the heat, but that is not the case for others. There have been several students with late, missing and poorly done assignments. Their grades reflect this lack of effort. I feel that it is far too early in the school year for this type of behavior. It seems that everyday we have students who have not completed their homework. This simply cannot continue. You will soon be able to view your child’s grades online and you will see their progress. I hope this will encourage all the students to do better. I am asking you as parents to impress upon your child how important it is to put forth their best effort. As their teacher, I will continue to encourage them to do the same. I truly want this year to be their best and I know it can be with more effort on everyone’s part.
Some upcoming events include:
-Confirmation Retreat on Tues. Sept. 13
-Confirmation – Sun. Oct. 2 – 1:30 Mass
-Evergreen Cemetery Discovery Walk –
Tues. Oct. 4 in Bloomington (more details at a later date)
Please return all confirmation materials including sponsor sheet, registration form, retreat permission slip and payment of $20.00 if not done so. Also, the students are required to do 20 hours of service for Confirmation.
I am looking forward to a great school year. I know that if we all work together we can accomplish that goal. Feel free to contact me at school or at my email which you can find on the school website.
Thank you so much for all your support and cooperation.
