1st Grade with Mrs. Kinate
Fall is in the air and we are preparing for the upcoming holidays with writing, poetry and projects.
You can look for turkeys outside of the First grade room but you might not recognize them. Each child has tried to disguise their turkey so Farmer Jake won’t fix him for his Thanksgiving dinner! The children have also been working in their poetry books and we will be adding Thanksgiving and Christmas poems to their collections.
In math we are working on addition and subtraction to 12. We will also doing some graphing. The best part of graphing is that after we graph apples and M&M’s we get to eat them!
In Social Studies we are learning about some great leaders from our country. They have characteristics that even a first grader can show to others.
Jesus had many followers and showed great leadership, too. We will be preparing our hearts during Advent for the celebration of Jesus’ birth by being leaders in our school, on the playground, and at home.
Blessed Holidays to all our families and friends!
